I'm not a huge fan of cabbage either. I remember when I got engaged to my wife, my grandmother asked if she is Catholic. No, I had to say, she is a Protestant. She then asked if she is of our ethnicity. Again, I said, no, her family is from Germany and Poland. After an uncomfortably long pause, my grandmother says "they eat a lot of cabbage don't they?" To this day, the memory of that exchange cracks me up.

potatoes, garlic, Zucchini, beans and cabbage
