Been seeing a lot of members being listed as "member (insert number here)" in threads instead of a typical username with a plain gray profile picture and an wondering what that's about. I'm sure other people are seeing it as well. The posts still have likes and quotes, etc. Deleted account? Ignoring seems to have the effect of completely erasing the ignored/ignore from existence so I don't think it's that...

I have noticed a few long time regulars here that have disappeared. At least one has used this total removal feature described above.

I cant recall at the moment the 3rd member but has recently been inquired about.

I hope they are all doing well.
Somebody asked about NoRegerts just a couple of days ago.

1776 USMC
I think it was 1775USMC. The timing on that one was funny to me. He had recently mentioned in a post that he would never block anyone. I responded "Challenge accepted!" and he basically told me "good luck" with a laugh emoji. Next thing you know, his posts in a thread we were both posting to showed simply as Member55238. I initially thought he had blocked me, so I asked another member through PM if he could see him. The other member indicated 1775USMC was gone as far as he could tell. Too bad. Seemed like a good dude.

Huh. The weird stuff that comes up here that I would never think about. I haven't noticed any such of the closed out posts that are referred to. Then again, I don't comb too deeply throughout the site. I am mostly guided by the "new posts" column, or I look at the ammo/reloading section. Once in a while I feel frisky and might post in the place where the only political stuff is allowed, but not often. Once in a while. I look at the ads but since most of them are in Oregon, they don't do a lot for me.

I've posted on a few other sites but rarely participate in those any longer. One shriveled up and died on me. That's mostly how I wound up here. The CMP discussion site is too narrowly focused, so I faded out of that one. A few other sites I'm signed up for, don't go to those often, only for infrequent, specific reasons. I've never officially quit a site.
