Question, I acquired a Marlin 795 back in January from a member of the forum. Just in the past few months I've had the chance to shoot it. Although the rifle bluing, the barrel, and the parts are in fine shape the paint (or finish?) on the receiver is scratched up. What is the best method to refinish the receiver? Is it just paint? Do I just remove the finish and spray on another or is it a finer finish?

Also, anyone try the DIP trigger guard & trigger replacement for the Marlin? Any good? Is there any way to remove the factory sight on the Marlin (it is attached to the barrel)? I just got tech sights in the mail today, and I'm not interested (aesthetically) in keeping the original sights.
