Non threaded barrel? - Marlin didn't thread barrels, this rifle was made before a lever action became tactical...

Marlin in the day made a Very good rifle...
I collect these IMO the older Marlins are 2nd to none...
45-70 after learning the trajectory and projectile weight will harvest anything in North America 300 yrds and less...

If I wasn't sitting in Texas I'd be making a onpointment to look at this rifle in person...

I have that same rifle. Never harvested anything with it but it's been a solid shooter. I know people knock the Remingtons but mine works for me. GLWS.

I also have the same rifle, Remington, and it has shot everything well, including an occasional 400 grain hardcast to 230 grains
