Bought it for a 308 build, put it together and realized it's not meant for 308 gas systems.

Did you try taking the buffer spacer out?

I didn't, but from what I read online it's not ideal either way. I just threw an old basic stock on it and realized the nicer one wasn't worth the money for what I'm using it for
