Hello and thank you for your interest.
Two available rifles are this 1941 m38 mosin and a Turkish Forestry Carbine. The m38 is counterbored (i.e. good shooter) and sits in an m44 stock, which is a common fate for many of these rifles that went through refurb after the war. Rifles a good bore and I have a couple hundred rounds of brass case 7.62x54R (non corrosive/non surplus) i'll sell at .50cpr to buyer if they're interested. Asking $400.
This Turkish Forestry Carbine is cool, there were less than 10,000 of these produced. Ian at forgotten weapons has a video out on them I'd recommend. Turkey, dealing with jihadis running illegal logging operations to fund themselves and were raiding local towns/police stations for mausers, wanted to arm their forestry service with a rifle to fight their illegal logging without making the forest service targets of attack. A couple of different theories exist on how exactly turkey had French Berthiers, but they took them and cut them down while attaching an older style mauser carbine front sight. "Orman" on the reciever translates to "Forest" and the turks armed their forestry service with 8mm Lebel instead of 8mm mauser. This is a unique rifle and I'm not a historian so if anyone here knows details better or if I made a mistake I am open to correction and learning! This example at least had a coat of BLO applied, not sure if it was sanded or not. Asking $400.
Willing to entertain reasonable offers and I'm open to trades. Trade interests include 5.56, 7.62x51, Trijicon TA31-F, Trijicon TA11-E, AR uppers, complete rifles (semi autos), remington 870, mossberg, or willing to entertain other options. For right trades I can do +/- cash or involved other rifles such as Mas 36, Mas 36/51, Gew 88, or Turked Gew98.
