The M1A1 did not except a bayonet, the Thompson gun had a compensator on the end of the barrel.

If you mean the M1 Garand, it used the M1905 bayonet in cut down form. With wood or plastic handle.

Repops are $40, originals start around $100 and can go as high as $3k. A evil bay search well show you hundreds of them.
