Apparently, there was/is a fire at Lane 1 of the Wolf Creek lanes. First reported at 12:00 AM. Just getting word of it this morning.

Update: 4:30am update from Elsie-Vinemaple RFPD: The fire has a hose line around it. ODF will be on scene throughout the day as crews continue to put hand line in around the fire and mop up.

Earlier update from Elsie-Vinemaple RFPD: We are on scene of an approximately 1.5-acre brush fire at Wolf Creek shooting lanes.

Want to wager people up there at night with a fire? And not responsible target shooters enjoying a resource?

Damn Shame that is my favorite and honestly the only place I like to shoot! I always bring a few extra trash bags to pickup what others did not. I like to leave a place cleaner than I found it.

Last I checked I don't think it's considered a camping ground. Had no business being there at that time likely drunk. Respectfully I don't see a rational sober person starting this.

Tweakers have been frequenting the lanes for several years now at all hours. Burning copper wire, scavenging brass, etc. I'm not saying that is the case this time, but it's a possibility.

It's been a couple/three years, we drove up there one morning midweek, on a day trip to the coast. Found the remains of a smoldering TIRE fire in the the parking area of lane 4. It wasn't dry season, but still. A lot of people a pure bubblegum. The NW isn't what it was 40 years ago.

It's a lovely area specially lanes 3 and 4 I just wish others could respect that area there are very few rules so please follow the ones posted and clean up after yourself simple as that! The Urban and suburban areas of Oregon have changed drastically which is why I find comfort and I'm more at ease when I go out to the mountains and more rural areas. To me that is the real highlight of Oregon not these hipster woke inner city areas.

Wow I'm surprised they make it out that far. Ship them off to an island in the pacific and call it a day

Two, three years ago they were camping on state lands. Even had some spur roads blocked off as their personal territory. I think ODF finally cleared most of them out, but there is still a lot of activity that goes on after sunset.

I shoot a little bit further down the road, drove past Wolf Creek. looked to be open. No emergency service vehicles parked outside the entry. Gate was open. No additional signage put up. However, I did not drive up the road so there could've been a closure right before the lanes but the entry point at the base near the highway was open.
