Does anyone else think it's strange that a crime lab has a metal shredder? Maybe I've seen too many shows and movies with crooked cops, but something to shred evidence in a crime lab just seems like a convenient way to influence a case.

Does anyone really believe the whole rifle got shredded?

Too bad. It was a clean shoot with no conviction so I don't see why the rifle wasn't returned to it's rightful owner. The owner then could proceed as they wished.

All things considered it was probably the best thing.

If not it might have taken its place as an 'idol', a thing of worship possibly and giving the antis even more fuel to add to their fire.

My challenge with destroying the firearm, it reinforces the anti-gun message that guns are evil and that gun violence is caused by guns.

Most of the times when firearms are destroyed, the destruction is undertaken by a government entity with liberal leadership.
