This a great cast iron toy from Kilgore Manufacturing Company from the 1910's. It would make a great display piece on a coffee or side table. It would fit your industrial, rustic, or military decors.
The cast iron barrel is painted silver and reads: Boy Scout Machine Gun in embossed letters on both sides. The cast iron base is painted in black which reads THE KILGORE MFG. CO. HOMESTEAD PA on one side and MADE IN U.S.A. on the other side. The wheels are constructed of wood in black paint. This is a toy for display only. These were designed to shoot marbles with spring action.
Excellent well kept condition. All of the paint is original. The barrel has light surface rust which is heavier at both ends on the edges. There are no chips or cracks in the cast iron on either the barrel or the base. This toy looks complete including the spring on the underside.This toy still works.
No restorations, 100% original.Even the dust has not been removed.
