For the first time ever, I have taken advantage of Kershaw's lifetime service.

I've carried a number of their assisted-open knives for many years. I have two that have significantly slowed to the point they would not fully open on their own. I've cleaned and lubricated them to no avail.

Took 'em in today and 15 minutes later they were both done. They replaced the torsion springs on both, and they now open better than when they were new. I've really got to hold on, as they now open as forcefully as a switchblade. I am pleased. 🤩
They also sharpened them both.

Great to know!

I have more Kershaw folders then any other brand - possibly as many as all of the others combined.

I used one daily and after 14 years it opens like an automatic that's smooth as a baby's bum.

It has been retired due to sentimental reasons but still a great knife.

Is that the Leek and Shallot ?

.

I think it's a Leek and Ken Onion 1840. The photo doesn't show, but the Ken Onion is much larger.

Thru the years, somebody from my shop would attend this event each year. They would bring stuff back to share, and I discovered a lot of junk. Either it was the Chinese versions or seemingly innocuous blems that showed their flaws later.

In fairness, there was nice stuff too.

I've heard they have even gotten to spreading out inventory of "the good stuff" throughout the day so it's not only the front of the line that gets a chance at good deals on the higher end knives, which I think is pretty cool.

I won this Kershaw automatic at the Jolly Jeepers Rally in 2018 and have carried it every day since then. It's still like @WAYNO describes. You'd better be hanging onto it when you hit the open button. If not, it will fly out of your hand!

Hmmm,
I got this as a gift...liked it so much I found two more! I pretty much like it so much, it will be what I carry for the rest of my life. It carries like a much smaller knife.
It gets used HARD. Sharpen, abuse, sharpen, abuse, rinse, repeat....
The assist bar broke long ago, but the flipper works great for me.
Do you think Kershaw will warranty this one?

I've had a Kershaw Filter assisted opening for years, I loved it for the finish, weight and was my EDC. I lost it last year and I guess they are discontinued.
If anyone knows where I can find one please PM me.
