In the wake of tragedies such as the mass shooting at a country bar in California, mass shooting in Las Vegas, and the exponential upward trend of injuries and hospitalizations at country music events, its time we set aside partisan politics and do whats right for the country, and that's to ban country music and country music themes.

Since 2014, more people have been hospitalized or killed from incidents at country music concerts and events than any other genre. Kenny Chesney concerts, sponsored by alcohol companies such as Corona beer, Cruzan Rum, and Bacardi, promote heavy drinking. All anyone has to do is Google "kenny chesney concert violence" to see an alarming number of fights, stabbings, and worse.

Country music has a lobby that is growing in the entertainment industry. There is a CMA or ACA awards show every month it seems. They invade our homes and indoctrinate our children with their violent, mysoginistic, and self-depreciating themes.

What are we teaching our daughters about self image when we wait nine months to see Carrie Underwoods face she was so ashamed to show after her fall, only to see that she still looks perfect? If she looks that great damaged, how are our daughters supposed to feel about their acne, unibrows, and oversized pores?

This is not your Dad's country music.

Lately it seems to have morphed into a new form of music, a kind of mash-up of the Country and rap genres.....
.....so, for convenience let's just call it what it is, … Crap !

If it ain't utilizing a washboard, it ain't country music.

There are still some good country artists working today. I personally enjoy Robert Earl Keen. Here's a great sample:

mainstream country music is now hollywood in camo and wranglers marketed to 15 YO girls.

gotta go find the real country artists still out there. you can find some if you dig deep enough

A bit like "o brother where art thou" in tone... but dark. :Dotherwise, there aint much "country" I listen to, if any. Am preferring electro, thrash, stuff with heavy beats and riffs like Laibach, Einsturenze Neubaten(spelling?), Rammstein, Kraftwerk, bit of Jean Michel-Jarre, some Dietrich Schonemann, some real obscure electro stuff... like Shadow Record's Droid, Hannah, Magnetic.

i miss the days of ol george jones gettin a DUI on his lawn mower on his way to the liquor store cause his ol lady took the keys to all the cars so he couldnt go buy more booze

I'm a GenX'er. My music has riffs, deep bass drums and head banging. My daughter calls it "Dad Rock".

No country for this guy. I'll take a little Metallica shaken with some Five Finger Death Punch.

Seriously, country sucks.

And for the times that my ears don't need to bleed, Some Floyd, Zeppelin or a bit of Neil Young calms me down.

Stairway to Heaven is off limits though.

And when I'm in the mood, Some PE, Dre/Snoop or even some NWA just for kicks. Yeah I said it.
