I still have my Gen 3 G32, which got stolen when some s**t stains broke into my car, then State Patrol finally allowed me to get my G32 after like 6 years since it was recovered. Put new night sights on it and new recoil spring since the gun sat in a box with the slide zip tied open for evidence storage.

With the safe storage baloney nowadays, you would likely get charged as a criminal for the theft of your property. If the same occurred today...

Probably true unfortunately. I was amazed i even got the thing back and got a trove of information on the case surrounding the gun theft when I did a FOIA request to the WSP. Dash cam videos, ATF firearm trace forms etc.
