Just an fyi, the hotels are filling up fast. In fact, I couldn't get a reservation for the end of next month earlier today so I have to drag my travel trailer over there. It's big enough for all of us but I was really hoping to not have to share the same sleeping space as the other seven farting dudes joining.

We are going the end of April, weather permitting. The long-term forecast is not good, but it will hopefully change

We'll have an extra day to do stuff later this week after the Burns rat shoot. Anyone have suggestions on other critters to chase and general area between Bend and Burns? Rock Chucks, coyotes, badgers, others? Would be fun to explore a little and shoot at other varmints while out that way, but not familiar with the area. Thx

This was my set up for a number of years. Good times for sure. I'm hoping to get back into it next year as I will be retiring this year and will have more time.
I'll have to settle for my swivel chair as I don't have the trailer in this configuration anymore.

My friend and I are just getting into varmint hunting. Been long time deer hunters and recently took a trip to a friends farm and did some ground squirrel shooting.
We had a great time but are looking for a more target rich environment ( we only got 8 all day)
Does anyone know of a public or private area (with permission of course) that is available for a couple of responsible hunters to join in on the fun this year?
Got a new rifle and tripod burning a hole in my pocket 😀

Those two rigs would not be legal where I am. You cannot be on a vehicle of any kind that has an engine my trailer had to be completely unhooked from the pickup. Game wardens checked me a few times but I knew the rules and did just fine. I used to kill 600-800 a day. Squirrels that is.

Shot the shat out of em yesterday in Burns Yeah it was a guided shoot on private alfalfa so no claim to superior rat finding skills on our part. It wasn't cheap but if you bring a few buddies, stay overnight in a cheap motel, pack some drinks and cigars the whole trip is a blast with plenty of fun memories.
