Sup,

I just inherited a few guns. A couple old shotguns that are probably past shooting given their condition. And an old 1863 Sharps Carbine that looks to be in good shape.
I've been studying up on the sharps. It takes a 50/70 round. So I may have to make some it I want to shoot it much.
I'm considering getting a black power muzzle loader since the 50/70 is still BP and I can use some of the same cleaning stuff.
Just good to have a place like this to search and ask questions.

Thanks,
One Tough Quaker

Hello One ToughQuaker...
Welcome to the forum....!

I like your shotguns there...A muzzloading shotgun is a fun gun to shoot and hunt with...
I have a few muzzleloaders that I like to use...:D

As for your Sharps...
Most 1863 models are in .54 Percussion...using a paper cartridge....Some were converted in the late 1860's and early 1870's to .50-70...Neat to have one that is converted...as a brass cartridge is a bit easier to load and more durable than the paper cartridges

Oooo, WELCOME! And that's some cool shooters you got there! Looking forward to seeing what the group has to say about those old guns. I wouldn't mind having a sharps, but I only buy guns I can shoot. I seems like the ones I've seen are either very spendy, or spendy and too worn out and dangerous to shoot.
