no,im an old [email protected] i do respect the 1911,thats my point!...it dont have to be pretty to be a good gun.i think people who turn away from a 1911 with an idiot scratch are infact kinda childish since it dont hurt the gun a bit.

Sure it doesn't mean anything but why not have both form and function. Normal holster wear and such doesn't bother me one bit. But if it was just my dumb mistake, I would be kicking myself. Especially for the asking price of top shelf customs.
 
I don't think you can really remove the idiot mark and I've tried. However to prevent them I just stick a business card in the area and slowly worked the slide stop back. Or do what most people do and never take the gun down :)
