Honestly wouldn't mess with any of those in trying to determine accuraccy. Lapua center X, perhaps eley match or even team. Also try Norma tac-22 some people say it does great. It's doggie doo doo for me. Cci standard velocity for cheap option. Sk ripe or other sk. Once best accuracy is determined the others can be used as desired for cost. I would stick with subsonic.
I may have to sell a few bricks for a few 50 round boxes of Hoity Toity ammo. :p

Here she is, I'm naming her Cora. Gonna sight her in this weekend. :s0023:

Beautiful rifle! I hope the Hawke scope does it justice. (My CZ's have a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14X and a Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16X respectively.)
I shot some cheaper ammo through my newer CZ455 yesterday. The cheaper ammo shoots okay, but the Wolf Match Target was better. If you can find some, Aguila Standard Velocity performed pretty well at 50 yards, and it is cheap when available.

I've been doing research into finding a worthy 22lr rifle for small game here in my new home of Florida. A few weeks ago I got my Fla DL and last week I got my free resident fishing/hunting license along with a Fed Bird Stamp.

I settled on a CZ457 American 22lr and found it for a fair price, $611 shipped out the door.
Im looking forward to dialing it in the next few weeks with the new Hawke Vantage 3x9x40 scope with duplex reticle from the transfer FFL in my small town.

You'll definitely love it buddy, enjoy!!!

I finally had a few hours to snuggle up to the CZ, ITS ALL that of the good reviews that's been posted.
I didn't have a place setup yet so I had to scout and find a suitable spot, which I did.

I set out my 8" round steel target and screwed a small piece of plywood to the 2x4 for the paper target. It worked slicker than owl snot on a rainy night.
My rickety table proved unreliable for sighting in so I pulled out the trusty BOG Death Grip and was able to steady my aim substantially.

I started with SK Semi-Auto ammo to sight in at 33 yards, American Eagle (Federal) 38gn copper plated HP's and Winchester 36gn copper plated HP's. I was able to close the gap in my groups and feel comfortable with the progress.

More testing will come when I have some time before Thanksgiving.

Fyi here's an ammo test a guy did on another forum with a cz .22 (note that ammo varies and one lot # can be different than another one as far as consistency). But in general this reflects what I've heard from many others in terms of ammo quality. The mm # shown is the group size.

Thanks for that. Interesting, I get the mm's are the group size but whats the Euro designation?
I will not be shooting compilation so my groups are capable for minute of squirrel.

As someone said above it's $. I agree with you I don't shoot competition so I don't bother shooting a lot of match ammo. I do find it helpful to shoot enough to know what the gun can do though. Match ammo is roughly $17-21 for a box of fifty I have found. Fine for occasional trying to get best groups but too expensive for me for a daily diet.

Seems like from my own experience and research also that the magic # of rounds is about 15ish before the gun "adapts" to the new ammo. But could be 5, or could be 50. In other words, first group of 5 may look just ok. But 4th group and onward with same ammo may look excellent. This holds true for cheaper ammo also I've found but of course the variability of the ammo makes it harder to pin down when the gun "settles down" to the new ammo. I see YouTubers shooting 5 of each type of ammo one right after another. The gun never has time to settle down to the new ammo.

As a data point on accuraccy fwiw eley match for me on my hammerli h1 is 1/2 the group size of cci standard velocity. That seems to hold true (roughly I mean) in the research I've been doing of other groups also. Cz owners seem to prefer sk and Lapua over Eley though. All just fyi stuff fwiw…
