My son and his new family living on the Grand Banks in NC have evacuated to Raleigh (3.5 hours west).
This is going to be one Helluva storm.

I'm closer to the coast than Raleigh... So if it doesn't hit me then Raleigh is safe.

Sometimes its humid af and feels like half-@ssed drowning, its hot, winters are cold in comparison because it just cuts off and goes from hot to cold. There are snakes (like copperheads and water moccasins), black widow spiders, and sometimes brown recluse spiders. Hurricanes tend to hit us.

Overall? I can't really think of many other states that I'd like to call home.

I found out late last night that they were rerouted to Glen Allen, Va by USCG orders due to possible flooding and high winds in Raleigh.

Just got off the phone with my friend in South Carolina .he is more inland but they are preparing for flooding .
