yes. Very important. Good point. We used to say only call when you see the ducks flying away from you, not ever when they are flying towards you. You don't have to then, they are already coming.
 
Hopefully it's like riding a bike.....was a very avid waterfowl hunter tell 2007 and gave it up because hunting was my job. Gonna bird hunt this year, just dug out some old calls. Unfortunately I gave away all my other gear
 
Well my grandpa did it a little bit differently…

He would raise one leg a little in the air and issue a 'duck call' that was rather fowl. At least that's what he insisted it was.

Although he probably wasn't very good at it because I never did see any ducks after that.
