What are you mounting it on? If it's a pistol, that will put your optic really high. If it's a rifle, for example a CZ457, you install dovetail rings or a dovetail rail.

Personally, I would either have the slide milled for a plate, or buy a new slide already milled. I'm sure there's a dovetail mount available, but that will put the RDS really high above the bore.

Yep, I was just looking and can get a new slide for under 200.
I doubt you can get the work done for that cheap. That said, if you were already thinking of getting it refinished, you might get close.

I will be going the EGW dovetail mount route in the future. I have a CZ75B SA that I recently picked up from a fellow member here on the forum. I prefer to not molest the slide by milling it. They were discontinued several years ago and I'd like to be able to return it to factory condition should I feel the need to.

The CZ will be a casual range gun, so height over bore is not a concern. If this was a surplus or beater CZ, then I'd most definitely mill the slide.

I had the same experience. I was not willing to mill the original slide on a 75b SA and the price for a different slide is prohibitive so I installed a dovetail mount on what is used by me as a target gun.
I milled the slide on a brand new 75b Compact used for carry and target shooting.

EGW works fine. Milled or MOS with the optic a little lower is a bit better (height over bore, index etc.) But dovetail a good way to inexpensively try it out. I have both.
