I have never owner a dodge of any kind, but I am ready to upgrade my truck (92 F150 with 193k on the clock). I am going to look at a 2001 dodge 2500 diesel 5 speed, but it has the "53" block and 101k miles. We're looking at diesels mainly for longevity over towing, mainly dragging some dirt bikes around and maybe a small trailer in the future. My question is should I instead start searching for a gasser given my budget is around 15k?
