Spent 3 years in Georgia as well as 6 in Florida, and lots of time as a kid in swamps where I wasn't supposed to go. I've been in Oregon 40 years now. But my brain hasnt accepted that where I am now there are no poisonous snakes. It notices every little garter snake from many feet away and seems to be a bit disappointed. Having huge water mocasins and every other poisonous snake in the country to watch out for certainly adds interest to a walk in the swamp or woods.
