I just bought two lowers a few weeks ago from a store and I think he did one as a pistol and one as a rifle. How can I check? Do I have to call the store? I didn't know you could do it as a receiver only.

I was under the understanding that once a registered as pistol always a pistol. Right ? ..or do you have one of each

Wrong, once registered as a RIFLE always a RIFLE, its its registered as a pistol it can be made into a rifle(with over a 16" barrell) or a pistol(without a stalk), somebody might have more specifics on this than I do, thats all I know.

Since when is there gun registration in Oregon? Don't mean to derail the conversation, but who cares how the NICS check is done. I understand that many look at the NICS check as a sort of de facto registration, but does it matter what the form says regarding rifle/pistol? I believe NICS logs are destroyed after 90 days anyways (can't confirm this)

When the gun shop called in my state paperwork for a stripped lower, at the spot where he would say rifle or pistol, he responded "stripped receiver".

bump for the seller/
