Probably best to ask Copeland Gunworks over in Estacada…awesome smith!Looking for a gunsmith to put a 4.62" barrel on my 44 mag vaquero. Have heard Ruger will do it for $85, but I wanted an improved fit, not just factory spec. Any one know a good gunsmith in Oregon or Southern Washington that does it?

He is a year out and double the price of most othersNot local, but Gary Reeder @ Reedercustomguns.com is pretty much the master at this. I used him for a number of things when I lived in Flagstaff.
He, like most smiths, are probably pretty backed up now.
Improved fit how so? Have you measured your lockup, gap, groove diameter compared to chamber throats and found them unacceptable?Looking for a gunsmith to put a 4.62" barrel on my 44 mag vaquero. Are you shooting competitively or just plinking? If you're just plinking and the cylinder timing is good see what Ruger's back log is like and if it's short, ship it, pay the $85 and call it a day.
