Hello everyone,

I'm a newcomer and pretty much a newbie to guns also. I only ever fired a gun during basic training in the Navy. I'm considering buying a .22 for plinking, range shooting, and teaching my daughter about firearm safety and how to handle a weapon (after I learn, of course).

I'm looking at the Walther P22 and Ruger SR22, I'm leaning more towards the Ruger. Would this be a good gun for a first time owner?

Thanks,
Phil

Yup -- a good 22 (Walther, Ruger, S&W) will do you good in learning. Biggest issue now is ammo. What used to cost less than $30 is now costing a LOT more. For the number of rounds though still cheap.

Welcome to the group.
