Our 18 year old graduated high school a few weeks ago. As some know, he enlisted into the Army for Airborne. Since there isn't much he could use before leaving for Basic on 7/25/22, and he wants to do Airborne, we decided his Graduation gift would be to throw him out of a perfectly good airplane at 14,500'. Well, to sum him up: "It was terrifying and incredible all at the same time" and "I'm going to do that again!" Here are a few of today's results:

Everybody closes their eyes on their first jump. That's why I had to do it a second time.
Then I got bit by the bug and had to do it again and again and again... :)

Congrats to your son and I'm sure he's gonna make y'all proud!
Yup, he's looking at #2 for this Friday or Saturday.

So very proud of him throughout his whole life and his next endeavors. 18 years is way to short of time. July 25 is coming way to soon and there has been too much dust and pollen in the air since his graduation as my eyes are constantly leaking.

As an update, he was scheduled for jump 2 today, but weather was not cooperating. So, we will find another day as weather improves. Went fireworks shopping instead. Not as fun, but still something we very much enjoy to celebrate.

No worries! Skydive Oregon in Mollala. They were fantastic to work with and very easy. Jumping at 14,5000' gives great views of Mt. Hood, St. Helen's, and the beautiful countryside around. Definitely worth the drive from Springfield
I enjoy seeing those sights just fine from the ground thank you.:s0155:

...but, Mike, if you were flying over Mt. Hood at 14,500' you'd get to look down on the mountain at 11, 249' before splatting into it. That's over 3000' above the mountain to enjoy on your 120mph leisurely decent.
I'm already proud if that kid of yours. That look on his face. And going into the armed services to learn how to jump out of airplanes! Fantastic! :D
