....A Glock newbie myself, I haven't a clue how to tell what's what. A Glock dealer in Renton yesterday, said they sometimes come w/ factory sights....There appear to be at least a half dozen varieties, Trijicons are clearly marked.....I guess I was wondering if yours (or all) Glock night sights are actual tritium vials as opposed to merely painted on. Perhaps someone could chime in.....?

There have been a few types of sights on Glocks over the years. In gen3's I'm pretty sure there are only 4 types of sights that come on glocks from the factory. polymer adjustable, polymer fixed, steel fixed (all 3 of these are white U-dot style sights you see on most glocks), and glock night sights. The glock night sights IIRC use meprolight tritium vials. If the night sights were on the glock from the factory there should be a spot where it says "GNS 5.5lb" on the label of the box. "GNS" standing for "glock night sights" and "5.5lb" for the trigger pull. the standard polymer fixed sights would have the code "FXD", polymer adjustables would have the code "ADJ". Not sure what steel fixed sights would have as a code, glocks with factory steel sights are not so common and i haven't seen a label.

I've never seen any glocks with night sights (factory or not) that were painted; all tritium. If the box has the code GNS on it you can guarantee they are 100% for sure tritium, glock doesn't pull that painted on bull---- that SIG does

Hey, thanks for the follow up. I scored a NIB one on here w/ night sights and a boatload of mags from a former gun shop employee.
