The Gen4 are .40 caliber frames...
Gen3 was a 9mm frame carrying . 40 caliber components...
Glock redesigned the Gen4 frame to a thicker and heavier frame to help the pistol and shooter handle the torque and recoil...

I've had afew, never an issue...
IMO they are good and better for CC due to weighing less...
