thank you sir.You will need to know the maker of the sight (yes, there are differences). The very most common is the Lyman #17 globe front.
Redfield (for the Olympic and others) is a different pattern. Chiefly the difference is how it rests solidly in the globe (ears or a "half round").
Winchester's globe sight (seen on antiques) is different yet.
And then you get to have fun, because there are different "cards" of multiple variety inserts of every imaginable type, some better for hunting (crosshair peep is my favorite) and some more suited for a black bullseye.
