Front sight 'dot'

Well, I measured and punched a 'dimple' in front sight of my 'new' RIA 1911 to create a 'dot' front sight.

I will finish it with a dental drill & mini burr to make a radiused 'depression' to fill with paint!

I have done this before on a few guns so it's not a 'first'.

Followup. Dot came out pretty good. The red nail polish I used to paint it with is a bit darker than I like so that may change.

OK, the red was too dark so I cleaned it out and filled it with white. MUCH easier to see!
