I sold a M76 silencer to a guy a few months ago . He put a deposit on it anyway. He texted me yesterday wanting to know when it was going to ready ? I told him it was ready to go just needed final payment. He called and wer'e doing the payment dance and I realized , man, Why do I know this guys voice? Then I realized the Ian McCollom I was ringing up was THAT Ian McCollom. So I spent the day today machining everything again from scratch to EXACT tolerances.

So…. If he wasn't a figure in the gun world… he mighta gotten less of a suppressor?

No but the pucker factor is much higher. Kinda like getting a critic in your restaurant.

As Ive built these , which are a bit unique in their construction, Ive developed better production techniques. Specifically, the knurling of the tube. Paid a small fortune for a very nice knurling tool recently which makes a perfect knurl every time and while the old one was serviceable the new one, to my eye , makes a much better pattern.

I bought a nice civil war saber from this souther fella.
When we talked His voice was familiar?

Then I put it all together. He was the civil war expert I'd been watching for years on the ''Traveling roadshow''.

Ya. I'm slow.

That knurling is sublime. If you aren't in the know, knurling , good knurling , is difficult to do.
