Keep it forever, 7MM is a good round. With the cost of pre 64's and classics through the roof, it's a very good alternative.

Never had a need for a magnum rifle.

Being as the bolt face has been opened up for a belted magnum, you are going to have to keep it in a chambering that uses around a .530" or so diameter case head, unless someone fits a new bolt to it.

And, it is set up to feed with the 7MM Mag. case, so that factors in also.

That is a very nice looking rifle. A good caliber too, especially if you hunt mulie deer, elk, bear, goat, what have you. It will reach out and touch someone, and even better if you scope it. Hope you reload! You may never have had a need for a magnum rifle.. probably never had a need for an AR15 either... Enjoy and good luck!

I have an FN Mauser in 30/06 caliber (J.C. Higgins model 50) and it's very well made.
The only drawback for me is the safety (very loud and hard to operate with a scope attached.)
I much prefer the Winchester model 70's 3 position style that's located on the side of the receiver.
You can upgrade the trigger with an adjustable one that comes with the side lever, but you then need to install a blank collar part on the rear of the bolt and remove some wood from the stock.
