Flir one for IOS, thermal imaging for hiking/hunting?

Has anyone played with one of these yet?
I thought it would be cool for hiking/hunting/camping seeing if anything is sneaking up on you in the dark, but I'm not sure what the range is.

I know Oregon has laws against using thermal imaging while hunting, I am not sure what they are, but remember seeing them in the regs. Their could be a carve out for varmints, but again read on your own.

I dont think it has the range to really be practical for real outdoor use.

Would work fine. Range is much farther than you'd expect.
