You should consider that prohibited persons are usually armed as well, with ""illegal"" weapons and ""illegally"" carrying.

However, polite society requires starting at childhood, the instilling of a strong code of ethics, honor, sometimes chivalry... A strong sense of "back up your words, honor, woman/man, family, with your fists/arms".
Gangs, the mob, etc seem to follow a similar sense in that they know that if they offend, insult, besmirch the honor of others, they can expect a brutal retribution from the offended/insulted party.

When I was younger, fists and legs were all I needed. It was rare that anyone conceal carried. I was always the one that had my friends ask to hold my glasses (standing behind me) while I pounded the out of some bully in High School. After a while, when my glasses came off, that usually was the end of the fight.

By the time I got contact lenses, everyone would already know to avoid fighting me or bothering my friends.. 6"2", 195 or 178 wrestling weight, >300 lbs bench press. Wrestling taught me a lot about fighting. Once on the ground, most kids were finished.

Knives were the problem in High School.

Now that I am old, concealed carry is the way to go. That was not the case in my Parents generation. Anyone got an answer to why things have changed?

My Dad carried a P-38 (mine now) at the Major High School that he taught, coached and was eventually the Vice Principle in charge of Discipline. That was back in the days when they could use hack paddles on the kids. He practiced on me and my brother.

"Zero tolerance", in the 90s ; punishing the kids who fought back but not the bullies. It's my estimate that those childhood bullies that always got away with their deeds and never suffered consequences..... Are the same people who wants everyone disarmed, who thinks cops save the day, and are today's Karen's/Kens

I would definitely give S&W a shot. Doesn't look that high-maintenance to me. She looks more down-to-earth than any of 'em!
