Sell/convert to silver, if you have a dealer with inventory whom will give you a fair premium for volume.

Or half cash, half inventory.

Convert the cash towards hard goods.

Everyone's opinion will vary on such, however for "most" of us on here, Gold will not do us any good in a hyperinflation / depression etc.

Silver "might".

Meaning, oversimplified, "easier" to trade with "everyday" vs Gold. Whereas Gold I'd only go through those dealers I've dealt with, or perhaps folks they recommend.

The silver to gold ratio was 125:1
Now its 81:1 and closing.

You could turn gold to silver now?

100.oz. silver will get you one oz. Gold at 100:1
But it will get you two oz. of gold at 50:1

Later when the ratio dilates back out.
Sell your gold and buy twice the silver you started with.

The nice part about trading the ratio is you can take your profits or not.
But always have precious metals in hand. ;)

Not sure about ammo trading? :D

Oh I hear ya!

More along the lines of thinking towards an extended time of economic problems ahead.

May seem silly to trade gold towards silver, however remember it's not an ACTUAL loss for folks whom don't have silver inventory (or would like to have more).

It's a PERCIEVED loss of what they COULD have made, or MIGHT make in the future.

The problems I see with the economy going forwards are pretty bleak. However, that's just my opinion.

So based on my opinion, if someone is heavy on gold, but light on silver, simply convert some towards silver & cash (then convert the cash towards hard goods).

Again, circling back towards my opinion of what usefulness either one (& today's cash value) would have "on the street" in hard economic times/vs HAVING to go through a known "trusted" dealer.

Things do look ugly.
A lot of potential for some really hard times.

Ammo will be nice to have.

Gold even nicer!

But it all may pail in comparison to food in your belly.
And a roof over your head.

I kept trying to order 1k in steel case .223 just for training and plinking, but kept getting orders canceled. Now all Inhave is green tips. I have 1k for each caliber I own, but that's my redline. So no training rounds left. :(

Yup.

That's why I kept mentioning converting said cash from above trading towards "hard goods".

Everyone's ideas regarding needs vs wants of such are going to vary. Water, food, security, comfort (heat/AC), lumber, hardware, spare vehicle consumables etc etc.

No sense having a bundle of cash, if there's nothing available to buy. Or far far worse, that bundle of cash only buys a "loaf of bread".

Mind, it's normally a good idea to have a reasonable amount of cash on hand. However, moving forwards, OUR on hand cash will be less than it has been in the past.

Just found Tula for 23 cents if you want the link

We all have our own plan.

Mine is to have cash on the sidelines for now.

If this down turn is like the last. Then there will be a period of deflation.
During this time Ill spend my cash. Maybe buy another property? But something.

I'll do this and get out of cash before the inflation hits. Thanks to all the Feds QE.

The time to stock up on ammo, guns and hard goods was before these price hikes. Say two years ago?
Now is a time to already be stocked up. And stacking cash for the fire sales that are coming.

If you don't have all that you want now?
I think paying off dept is your best bet.

Not in the black when times get really bad?

Well you will either go into crime. [And probably get killed very quickly].
Of have to sell all your guns, ammo, gold, and whatever else you have. Just to feed you and the kids. And keep a roof over your heads.

But what do I know.
I am just some guy on the Internet.............

200 rounds for $99

Probably one of the better deals available right now.

Here's IMI at .46

Yup.

Took a look at Target Sports USA again just now.

Yesterday (see post #4) they had the Federal green tips in stock at 99+ cases. $549 for non members.

Now they are down to 42 cases...in under 12 hours.

$505 for members - logged in just to see what the "savings" would be.

CRAAZY!

Sold out, less than 24 hours. YIKES!!

What's the best price anyone has paid at a retailer lately?

I needed some plinking rounds and spent 40 cents a round yesterday on 5.56 55 gr brass (White box)... I've never spent that much on 55 gr in my life and yet I'm thinking it was a pretty good deal because the best I can find today is 46 cents a round at Midway
Hell, I just paid $21 plus tax for a box of .40 Blazer Brass.
BiMart would have a better price if they had any.
I think I'm done buying ammo for awhile:confused:

Yes, that's high, but something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay. A case in point was back in the day when I was a cop. I looked young (and I was young) and I ended up working vice and narcotics when the vice cops needed a bit of help. I remember talking to a really skinny and worn out street walker. She propositioned me so I asked her "How much for a straight lay." she said "$100." I told her that she was nuts. Other girls were selling it for $20.00 (this was 50 years ago). She reminded me that all the other girls had gone home and she was the only one "working!" Supply and demand.

Also think about this, I've been told by many handloaders that the 62 green penetrators are not very accurate due to the steel penetrator of different sizes.
