"Allegedly"...is not a word you want to hear if you are involved in a shooting...
Also....following the man to a nearby gas station...?
Not the best of ideas here.

I understand the outrage...and maybe even fear...However , when the man left the yard , he was no longer a immediate threat.
Again...not saying that man looking into a young girl's window and pleasing himself( allegedly ) was right...or that his actions should be condoned etc...
And I am not saying that he didn't do it...but there is that word , allegedly....

Hold that man at gun point in the yard ...Yes , if legal to do so where you live.
But , following that man across the street , after he left the property , could be putting the father on thin ice in court.

This.

If they are looking into my window, we're back to that 20 bucks is 20 bucks equation mentioned in an earlier thread...

But to the topic, it's definitely bad form to shoot at someone not an immediate threat to you or others.

Yep. And those supporting the shooter aren't making us look any better. What that man did (allegedly) was despicable. However, you can't just hunt down a (supposed) creep and attempt to kill him at a gas station for something he may have done.

I once had a guy peering in my window at 2 am (my S.O. and I were watching movies with all the lights out). I confronted him through another nearby open window and it turns out he thought my apartment was his friend's who lived next door. The friend verified this. Going guns blazing isn't a smart move and I'm glad I used my brain before making a brash decision.

Read it and it says the bad guy wrestle the wife's gun away and was a threat so the husband shot him. :s0093:

Sometimes reading an entire story is too long to read but it helps in making an opinion to read first.

IF ( a little word that can make a huge difference )

If they , the husband and wife , did not follow the man across the street , off of their property , then there would have been no struggle and no need to shoot.

Or...
If the man attempted to take the gun from the wife , while on their property , and then the husband shot the man...
Would seem to me at least , to be a better read in court...then following someone off of your property , getting into a struggle and then shooting him.

I say again...
I understand the outrage...but when defending yourself , do so smartly.

They followed him to the gas station and called 911. I think maybe better to watch from a distance while help is on the way?

These sick types, it starts with peeping.. Then it seems to get worse and worse as he gets bolder. The inevitable is, he daughter would probably be attacked by this guy down the road. Too many crime stats prove this is the trend with these dudes.

I feel like the father was just taking out the human trash.
