EoTech 512 Batteries

I remove the AA batteries when not in use just in case the batteries leak. However when I went to use the sites last week they wouldn't work. It seems there's a metal bar or something missing or perhaps something else (Not the small rubber boots with the metal spirals) any idea what part is missing and how I can get the part I need to make my sites work again?
