I just ordered a custom DS 1911 from a small manufacturer. My FFL called me and informed me that the pistol arrived, but due to the high capacity magazines, they were not able to let me have them.

Would it be acceptable for the FFL to return the magazines to the manufacturer due to them being MBX + cost a pretty penny.

Like I said, dumb question, but never hurts to ask.

If the mags did actually arrive with the shipment, I would ask the FFL if they would be willing to pay you for them and sell them out of state. If I'm not mistaken, dealers can still sell locally outlawed magazines and ship them out of state where they are legal.

Instead of asking some random guy on a gun board, why not :
1) Ask the seller if he would take the mags back
2) If yes, then ask the FFL if he would send them back
3) Work out your Stupid Tax with your FFL (postage and handling fees)

Then you have to figure out if you can get 10 round mags for that pistol.
You should also ask yourself "Why did I order a pistol like that when I live in a 10 round mag state ?"

I would think the manufacturer you bought the gun from would have stated prior to shipment to your FFL that with you residing in WA, that you would not be receiving the standard mags.
