If so, are they treated just like a suppressor would be?

Finally....

Do you need to purchase Class III/NFA items in the state it will reside, or can you purchase and bring across state lines as long as it aligns with your state laws?

You must do the transfer in the state your reside. It can be bought from out of state, but needs to be sent to a dealer in your state where you will go and fill out the Form 4.

Large Bore DD's are legal in WA. Other DD's are not. Grenades for example.
