First production year….completely customized in 1995-96… obviously pre Remington buyout/brand butchering.
All parts were purchased from, and installed by renowned Gunsmith Bill Davis Services in Sacramento, CA.
Possible the most squared away Para on the planet, and definitely one of a kind!
No expense was spared having it built and tuned to perfection to train for the arduous task of getting a California Concealed Carry License…
How do I know all this?
Just today I was looking for the spring was thrown in by the guy I traded it from, and I pulled the foam out of the case it came in…. low and behold….I found many pages of correspondence and several invoices documenting the transformation, and the journey(turns out the 2nd owner.. you will be the 5th counting me) went through to get it all done… as well as the original shipping receipt from 1991. All this was a very nice surprise and made for an entertaining Saturday morning.
After much research and Google-Fu… here is what I have surmised to be the list of repairs and modifications…although I may be missing some.
Millett Adjustable Sights orange
Kings 201a Ambi Safety
Kings 202 extended slide release
Clarks Custom extended Mag Button
Ed Brown Grip Safety
Full length guide Rod
Custom Trigger and Trigger Job
Aluminum Alloy Frame was Factory replaced with a much better steel frame(fun story in the paperwork)
Bead blasted and re-anodized in a very cool one of a kind Brownish and Grey finish.
It was all done 25 years ago and was a daily carry, so it is not in perfect condition, but it is still a very nice indeed! I'm just not a 1911 guy so I'm passing it on.
I was told this was a $1500 gun, but until this morning I didn't believe it, and prematurely listed it ready to take a big loss.I still feel $1500 is a bit ambitious, but I'm not 1911 savvy, and I'd like to trade for something else that is more in my wheel house… night vision stuff like a second PVS14 so I can have budget bino's, IR laser (PEQ15) Cool optics, Gucci AR parts and accessories….HK, Geissele, Knights, Noveske, Colt, ARMS, Trijicon, Aimpoint, Surefire, LMT…
9mm PCC's, Sig's, ?????
I'd LOVE a shorty 300blk bolt action pistol
+/- $ or other goods
Greater Kelso area but will travel for the right deal.
