I've been looking for one for a while, they are a great gun and have a special place in my heart. The first 5 years I was trapping that's what I packed for a trapline gun. Once I realized(like you) the value it got retired from the feild. I recently resigned from my job and unfortunately can't take it with me. So sadly on to the next person it goes, I will definitely be putting one in my safe down the road

Not to discount your financial situation at all, but they only fetch $1000-$2000. Even if it were in prime condition, $2000 over your lifetime is pennies. $20/hr means than before taxes, the money generated will be less than 1/2% of one year. Take that over a lifetime and you'll never get your grandpa's gun back.

If you save 25 cents a day, in about 22 years you will have $2000, which will then be worth about 25 cents due to inflation.
