I have just seen this ad now. I am going to watch so I can find it again. I'm interested at $800 & 300 rounds of .45(ACP?).
I may be sending you a p/m. I'm looking & thinking.

IIRC......

A Series 70 will say so on the slide. The slide will be marked:

COLT'S MK IV/SERIES '70
(along with some other markings below that)

Then.....the collet bushing is THE telltale sign of what you have. Yeah.....it is what makes the Series '70 so distinctive.

IF, your collet bushing had/has broken. And was replaced with a solid bushing. Well.....personally, I wouldn't care/worry about that so much. IMHO....only a "COLLECTOR" might care.

Yeah....collet bushing. I used to think that they were the cat's meow. That is.....until the finger on the collet broke and the slide locked up tight.

Aloha, Mark

PS..... also the ser number might be something like.....70Gxxxxxx or maybe even xxxxxxG70. The "G" stands for Govt Model (I assume). That being said....mine are regular blued steel.

The slide markings on mine, are like in this internet photo.
