I've got a gen 3 Glock 19 and I hate it if I'm being totally honest. I don't shoot it often because I have a lot better guns. I want to like it but I just don't. It is reliable but it's not ergonomic at all and the trigger sucks. It's nothing to write home about in the looks department either and it has sights that work but they're plastic. The rxm is a better Glock. I don't know your circumstances but if I were you I'd save my shekels and just get an Hk vp-9. It won't leave you wanting.

I carried a Glock 22 then 23 on duty for 19.5 years before our department switched over to the P320 six months before I retired. I hated the P320 and don't recommend one.

I have a Glock 27, and earlier this year I bought a RXM. I prefer the RXM in every way over the duty Glocks I served with. The feel of the grip, the optics cut, the taller night sights, trigger pull weight, chassis that allows the frame size, etc. View attachment 2303414View attachment 2303415View attachment 2303419
Thank You One and All who responded today with helpful comments and information .. Y'All are Awesome! .. Rix

Thank You, I am leaning toward the RXM .. it's time to retire my Security-Six, 1911 and CZ75 from first-line status.
Don't do it, would be my advice. In November I bought a 365. It's now for sale. I "went back" to a 1911 and revolvers. I wouldn't say the excersize was a waste of time, because if now know that a wondernine isn't all that people think it is.

I hear the RXM grip angle is the same as a 1911.
It is not. It's a bit closer than a Glock, but is not the same as a 1911. I would also say that the grip angle will take a bit more to get used to if using an optic. When I bought the 365 and Holosun it was pretty easy to adapt to because it has a similar grip angle to the 1911. But I also agree that with a bit of use, anyone can get the hang of it. While you won't see me with a Glock, I shoot Ruger 22's a lot and that angle is probably even more of a difference compared to a 1911 than a Glock is.

@RixRevolvers , I can't seem to copy and paste with a phone, but there is a thread I started last fall that you may find interesting. I received a lot of hints and advice when I asked a similar question. Maybe @1775usmc or @roseburger could help point you in the direction of that thread.
Even though I know how it turned out for me, you may like going down that path.👍

Hmmm ... gonna try it, no guarantee I won't go back too ... Thanks!

Thank You, once I learn my way around here better I may go look for that thread, but I am gonna try the RXM at some point soon.

Keep the SAR9 in mind too. I bought the 5.2" Sport model from Cabelas, brand new for $225 after discounts and tax. The grip is very similar to the VP9. The gun is heavier than a Glock though. 17 and 19 round mags. I sent it to NC Engravers and they milled it for a RMR footprint optic, and cerakoted the slide for $90.

Have you tried fiber optic sights? My eyesight has never been great and I'm getting older too. But the Truglo TFX and TFX Pro sights are fiber optic with tritium. They are very bright, especially in sunlight. Personally, I have tried red dots on three different handguns and I can't find the dot quickly enough after I draw. If your draw is not perfect you will see nothing in the window - no dot. Also, small light 9mm guns have a ton of recoil. You might try a 380 acp, which I recommend. My recommendation would be a Sig p238 or Sig p365-380 with Truglo TFX Pro sights. Or put Truglo sights on your CZ and call it good. Just my two cents.

Good to know, but at least its leaning in the right direction... :p (pun intended).
I have a glock clone thats supposed to have the same 1911 grip angle (the main reason I bought it) and love it and its rmr optic. The Glock grip angle is one of the main reasons I never got into Glocks.

Unless one practices&practices while expending thousands. tens of thousands of rounds to become an expert, I wouldn't mount an optic on an EDC...ever!

'Stay still' assaulting criminal, I can't find my dot to blast you to 'kingdom come'!

But of course, I observe the 'caveat'...you do you!

Never handled a Ruger RXM, but looking at handgun hero, it does look as though the grip angle matches a 1911.

Where's a PSA dagger compact (G19 clone-ish) maintains the rear glock palm swell. Changing the overall grip angle, like Glocks.

Some folks it might take thousands and thousands of rounds. Other folks less. While yet other folks may never take to them.

Then there's also a way to bridge both worlds. Co-witness...

Took me less than a box of 10mm to get used to the dot on my G29. Now it's just second nature on any gun I've installed a red dot on, including my daily CCW a Sig P365.

Of course, more practice makes things more better, so I keep on plugging away. My aging computer display decimated eyeballs like the dots.

The Sig optic on my P365 has a large circle that seems to draw my eye in on target even quicker. Future dots I install will likely have this feature.

My Salient is the closest thing I have found to a 1911 grip angle on a Glock style handgun.
