The 43X is (currently) my main EDC. FYI- You can pre-order Glock OEM 15-rnd magazines (instead of aftermarket mags) for it from https://www.glockstore.com/Glock-Factory-15rd-Magazine-for-G43X?quantity=1&custcol9=95

BTW- a "CDL" is a commercial driver license.... a "CHL" (in Oregon) is a concealed handgun license, and a "CPL" (in Washington) is a concealed pistol license.

;)

Hey, what's wrong with a 'banana nose'?

I resemble that remark...!

Here in Texas, it used to be called a CHL, Concealed Handgun License.

That stopped when 'Constitutional Carry' came about.

It's now referred to as an LTC...License To Carry.

Yes, one can carry without an LTC, but you have more gun rights with an LTC...confusing as...you know!

Auto correct got me there, I should've looked twice 😅

Fixed…

Everyone's different, so recommendations may or may not work.

As mentioned above, carry what works well. For you.

As in what fits you well, AND you can shoot well.

All sounds fine to me, including the Glock. EDC is a Ruger Max-9, and as of tomorrow, it will be a Tisas 1911 Tank Commander in 9mm (I swore I ordered it in 45, but apparently not and it's really not worth the hassle to refuse it at the FFL). Both I have IWB holsters for. Plus loads of magazine holders that are also IWB.

Your Glock will make a fine first CCW. But shoot every gun you get the chance to try. Very few people are still carrying their first after 5 years.
What and where you carry is a very personal thing. Everyone has to sort that out for themselves.
I started trying to carry a full size gun. But every time I got home I could not wait to get that thing off me! and soon it was spending more time in a drawer than on me.
One day I dropped a small gun in a pocket and it stayed with me all day. And the next day and every day after! That worked for several years.
I needed to find a gun that I could load and shoot one handed before a series of surgeries. That's when I started carrying a revolver.
It turns out the revolver is the easiest to keep on me all day every day. And for me that's more important than size or capacity.
It took me about 30 years to find what was perfect for me.
You will have to find what works best for you and your lifestyle. Good Luck DR

Welcome! I would say for edc get (or use what you have) something you will carry with you all the time. What ever you choose practice a lot with it so shooting it well becomes instinctive and you have supreme confidence in using it should the need ever arise.

When the need comes you will be under duress, so practicing enough that its second nature is a big benefit imo. Don't just practice relaxed slow fire. The real world won't be like that. Get training if you can, even if you have to get the info and train yourself. #1 is learn the four rules of safety and never violate them. #2 Find instruction in how to grip correctly and trigger control. Ask questions if you have them. 2 cents…
