I'm laying here on the boat (spent the night on it with my boys) and since first light there's been a large, round, white object floating in the sky. We're at Foster Lake, near Sweet Home in OR. Crappy cell phone pic but here it is. Has anyone heard anything about one of these?

I think they sent trash in the last one?

I can see this being a trial for small nuke emp's but honestly google earth shows more then they could probably get with a balloon.

Heck, the PUD was able to pull up street view and walk me to where my brothers water shutoff was without anything other then a quick phone call.

My guess would be one of those balloons the amature groups send up. When the real spy balloon was up and the gov got all embarrassed they shot down one of those ones that one of those groups puts up. Spent like a 1 million dollar missile to shoot down a balloon that costs a few bucks.

Since the govt thinks money is endless, was that the equivalent as lighting a cigarette with a $100 bill? This balloon is pretty dang large, must be WAY up there as it lit up before the sky did. As in high enough to get sunlight before the horizon.

It was sent by North Korea to spy on you specifically so I hope you weren't nekkid…

There are currently three balloons over Oregon, two east of Baker City and one north of LaGrande.

They are owned by Aerostar which specializes in areospace, defense, research etc.

It appears they are monitoring the wildfires.
