The case is longer for the 270.

It is but only the neck which fits in an '06 no problem. I just tried it and it does in fact fit.

I knew case length was longer, I was incorrect in my thought that the shoulder was longer, too.

You had me questioning it and since I just picked up a few cases from a 270 at the range yesterday for my brother I thought I'd give it a look. I knew they were the same case but I didn't know the 270 was longer. I never quit learning! FWIW, my sister in law shoots a 270 and she shot a buck on Sunday that ran about a hundred feet after punching both lungs. I gave her a hard time and told her if it
would have been an '06 the deer would have collapsed, lol!

I believe the 270 Win is a necked-down 30-03. Case lengths are the same.

I had a guy I know show up at at shoot prepared to run 9mm Parabellum through his 9mm Kurz once. Just saw the 9mm on the side of his Italian Beretta and didn't understand the Kurz part.
