I have a brand new Savage Axis II in .308. There is a horrible feel when cycling the bolt. Feels/sounds like I'm destroying some kinda spring? HELP!

During what motion specifically? The cocking/decocking of the bolt definitely changes tension on a spring, sliding it in and out as if feeding a round shouldn't.

Yeah. I can't get it to repeat today. I believe it was happening when lifting the bolt/cocking. Felt awful.

Have you lubricated the bolt especially the cocking pin?

I have and after cycling the bolt a handful of times it stopped.
