I bought a cheap Cobra derringer in 22mag years ago. Made in Utah, build quality was at the lower end but functioned well after a trigger update, covered under warranty. Pretty pointless in 22 mag as a 22lr just about outperforms it in such a short barrel. It's a fun gimmick, really loud too. Now something in a true centerfire magnum cartridge would be a different story.

Try bimart they have a 22lr one on clearance for around 200$ you can buy different caliber barrels on line for them per specific model

My Sig p238 is about the same size as a Bond derringer. The p238 with flush fit magazine holds 7 rounds of 380 acp, plus it has a good trigger and good sights, much better than a derringer.

The one I have and love is an NAA Mini revolver in 22mag with 1⅝" barrel.

Looks like a toy, many times people point and laugh till they see me shoot it, then people be scared...

Nice fireball, a point blank platform with 5shots...

I have an American Derringer in 45 Colt / .410 and its stout but not painful.

I have shot many, known a lot of people who had one. VERY few seem to keep them or they end up put away and forgotten. The larger caliber models are bigger and heavier than many small auto's that offer more shots. The small one in .22 you would be far better off with one of the mini wheel guns. Bottom line real good chance that if you do buy one it will not be long before you no longer bother to carry it and are looking to re-home it. Now days that's a lot harder to do without taking a hit on the money invested.

I'm a big fan of the Bond derringers. Excellent manufacturing and to my eyes simply beautiful guns. Fun as heck to shoot too IMHO. However tactically speaking, they weight more than a S&W J frame, only have two shots on board, and are slower to reload. I've owned Davis and American Deringers. Bonds are the best I've owned. I will add that they make a 9mm lightweight that will test you with recoil! I'd rather shoot the 45Colt or .410 than the little Stinger!!!! At conversation distance they are accurate enough for me. I have seen other shooters do much better than me so the guns are capable for sure.

I have a bunch of b.a. derringers with assorted barrels. the handguns are all original gen2, my one cheaper, less-finished rowdy/roughneck was a clunker. they are fun plinkers. if i want a pocket ccw for the suburbs a keltec p32 is my choice. if i'm walking in the woods and my likely threat is a feral dog or such i bring a b.a. derringer with trigger guard removed in gloved hand weather. 38sp and 9mm are the stoutest rounds that i enjoy out of a b.a.

Anyone shot a 45-70 or 44Mag derringer before! I have not but wouldn't shy away from it.
Bond 45-70. Horrible. Worst thing ever. Shot it once, never again. Only gun I'd stop people from shooting unless you are are 200+lbs and an experienced shooter.
Horrible ergo. Pulled the trigger, and in order, felt my wrist lock up, then my elbow, then my shoulder. The gun flipped up so violently that the hammer spur cut me pretty good. My hand was completely numb, couldnt open it, had to flick the gun out of my hand. Took about 2 hrs before I could grab anything as simple as a zipper on my jacket to zip up.
Mind you, I'm 250lbs, and have shot numerous big caliber revolvers, 500S&W, 44mags, etc, and this was unlike anything else. No thank you.
