Having owned and repeatedly fired a very similar Bond "Derringer" with full power Hornady .45 LC defensive loads and some Remington PDX1 .410 defensive ammo, the recoil is surprisingly manageable. This is because the Bonds are solid little stainless steel bricks, and very heavy. I had a stainless American Derringer in .357 Magnum, and the Bond was substantially larger and heavier -- as a point of reference, they are heavier and more substantial feeling in my hand than an all steel J-frame.
