Damn, kind of surprised to see they will still let us in WA have these.
You can have it so long as the store withholds the hand guard to comply with Washington's definition of skeery gunz that only the state can have but is prohibited for subjects to own. Likely the same goes for the mag if it exceeds whatever the maximum number of rounds.

You can later purchase a hand guard, but if you attach it you are in violation.

I had kind of wondered about that. I have no want for one of these, just clicked on it to see what it would say. Stores site said if I wanted one they would deliver to the Port Orchard store in a few days with of course the 5 round mag that it is advertised with. Will be interesting to hear if anyone here does buy one. If when they go to pick it up the store had pulled the handguard off????

It constitutes a "barrel shroud" but I can't imagine using a C grip in one with the reciprocating handle guard. I like the the Samson Hannibal over the factory one anyway, but you still can't legally have one of those on your Mini 30 in WA either

But,but, just think about how safe we are now 🤬😡🤣

Dang, that's tempting, just happen to have $900 in my wallet. I think if I didn't have a mini 14 in the safe I would be all over this. For some reason I always thought mini 30's were .308 win, I would definitely be all over it if it was .308.

So safe you can now burn your hand and get hit by the reciprocating charging handle.
Out of curiosity I jus looked at my favorite Distributor and it looks like maybe Bi-Mart just has not tweaked their website correctly yet. I looked at several Mini's and all of them said no go for WA. So I have to "guess" if someone here does order one of these and it gets to the store, the store is going to be told no when they try to complete the sale here. :(

I'd suggest calling BiMart or your local FFL and inquire. It could be "no go" as is, but with that WMD plastic removed and molecularly destroyed it's okie dokie.

The two Washington stores on their website, Washougal and Vancouver Fourth Plain, are "Out of stock". And I don't believe Oregon Bi-Marts will sell to out-of-state resident buyers. Sigh.

My guess would be someone caught up with the restrictions and started sng that instead of showing you could order it to the store

Of course, these are advertised as "Web Only" so may be available after all. Since AK's can no longer be bought here in Washington, is $920 (after tax) for this something to consider as an alternative? Having 7.62x39 compatibility along with an AR-15 may provide some flexibility down the road.

If you mean the Mini 30? So far from what I can find its still a no for us here in WA. We are of course far safer now that those free states where you can still buy these things

I noticed that the picture shows it without the upper barrel shroud (the "assault weapon" part) and a 5 round magazine. That said, it is Web Only with order to be picked up at a local store to which it would be shipped. The Out of Stock note, though, precludes ordering it.

Also, Bi-Mart requires all firearm sales to be made only to residents of the state in which the store is located. So for Washington, that's just the two mentioned above (#13). I did put it on a wishlist though in case they get more in, especially as that doesn't require a purchase when or if they show up.

Also surprised to look into 7.62x39 ammo prices - higher that I would have thought. But having fired a friend's AK here in the local range, I can see the appeal.

The last time I was at the Caples Bimart in Vancouver before they closed, they said they weren't selling Mini's when I asked. I had noticed someone had special ordered a Ruger PCC, so I asked. They sited the Barrel Shroud nonsense.

I have the Samson rail on my Mini 14 and I would argue it's not a barrel shroud as it really heats up quick. I usually shoot with gloves because of the heat.

I like my Mini 30. The 7.62x39 is a good cartridge. Also the magazines are interchangeable with the Ruger American in 7.62x39. If you had bought magazines before 2022, you can get 20 rounders for both rifles.

Of course there are a few sellers I know of in Washington still selling the Mini with the hand guard...

Its still there. Its now not as "beefy" as the used to be on the models that had wood furniture but there is a guard there. If you ever get a chance to see a Mini you will see why. No one would want to shoot one with it taken off.
